Virginias Furniture Hire & OUR PLANET
Specialising in luxury furniture and décor hire, our approach to sustainability is rooted in thoughtful curation rather than compromise. We are inspired not by fast trends or mass production, but by craftsmanship, longevity and considered design.
While our collection is predominantly contemporary and high-end in finish, around 25% of our hire range incorporates carefully selected second-hand, vintage and character-led pieces. These items are chosen for their timeless appeal and quality, allowing us to balance refined luxury with responsible reuse. Reinventing, restoring and reimagining sits naturally alongside our commitment to elevated design.
REUSE & RECYLE
Approximately 25% of our hire collection is made up of vintage, antique, refurbished or recycled pieces. Each item is selected for its aesthetic integrity and quality, ensuring that pre-loved furniture sits seamlessly within a luxury setting. Many of these pieces have lived previous lives, adding depth, character and a quiet sense of history to our collection.
Natural Materials
We carefully source products made from natural materials that age gracefully and become more beautiful over time. From solid wood furniture, to linen, bamboo and natural materials, we prioritise materials that are both refined and responsible, designed to last and to return naturally to the environment at the end of their lifecycle.
RESPONSIBLY SOURCED
As our business continues to evolve, ethical practice and responsible sourcing remain a growing priority. We are committed to working with suppliers who share our values, favouring sustainable materials, transparent supply chains and thoughtful production methods wherever possible.
COMMUNITY & PEOPLE
We actively invest in our local community of skilled upholsterers, carpenters and furniture makers. By supporting local trades and craftspeople, and prioritising UK-based services and materials, we help reduce our carbon footprint while preserving traditional skills and exceptional workmanship.
Our Products

Antique / Vintage
Our antique and vintage pieces are chosen for their enduring beauty and sense of story. Sourced over time from across the globe, including flea markets, reclaimation yards, antique dealers and specialist sellers. These items bring depth and individuality to our collection. Look out for the vintage symbol to identify antique or vintage hire pieces.

Natural Materials
Our collection celebrates the quiet luxury of natural materials. Where you see the leaf symbol, the product has been crafted using materials designed by nature, selected for their texture, durability and timeless appeal.

Recycled / Repurposed
Repurposed and reinvented, these pieces demonstrate how discarded materials can be transformed into beautiful, functional design. From Moroccan floor cushions crafted from vintage Berber rugs, to coffee tables and stools made from reclaimed elm, and our Paxton Chairs formed from recycled oil drums, each piece is a considered blend of innovation and craftsmanship.

Handmade
Whenever possible, we introduce unique handmade items created by artisans using traditional techniques and natural materials. These pieces are made to last, inherently sustainable, and offer a level of character and quality that cannot be replicated through mass production.

Sustainable Materials
Around 14% of our collection incorporates highly sustainable materials such as bamboo, cane, jute and seagrass — fast-growing crops that regenerate naturally with minimal environmental impact. Our linen cushions are made from flax, a fabric that is biodegradable, recyclable and requires very little water to produce.

Recycled Plastic
Many of our rugs, cushions and blankets are made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. By transforming PET-grade waste into high-quality textiles, these products combine durability, comfort and refined design, while actively contributing to the reduction of plastic waste.

Transport Offset
Transport is an essential part of our events business and one of our greatest environmental challenges. Where you see this symbol, we are actively offsetting emissions through tree-planting initiatives as part of our wider commitment to responsible logistics.

Local
By prioritising UK suppliers, local craftspeople and trade partners, we significantly reduce transport emissions and support small businesses within the local economy. This approach allows us to maintain both environmental responsibility and exceptional quality control.
OUR COMMITMENT TO DO BETTER
We are committed to continually reducing our impact on the planet and its people. While our business naturally embraces reuse over disposability, we recognise sustainability as an ongoing journey, one that evolves as we do.
GREEN OFFICE
Our internal operations are designed to minimise waste wherever possible. We operate a largely paperless office, use energy-efficient LED lighting, and furnish our workspace with reclaimed and vintage furniture. We send zero waste to landfill, reuse and recycle packaging, and use eco-friendly cleaning products. Textiles are washed using plastic-saving Eco Eggs and microfibre collection bags to protect waterways and oceans.
COMMUNITY
As part of our commitment to giving back, we are planning an annual team day dedicated to supporting local environmental or social initiatives. Ideas include beach clean-ups, tree planting, volunteering with local charities, or fundraising activities, all aimed at creating positive, tangible impact.
OFFSETTING EMISSIONS
Alongside reducing emissions, we are developing long-term offsetting initiatives, including tree planting schemes and the creation of a wild garden habitat at our premises. This space will not only benefit local wildlife and insect populations but also provide a restorative environment for our team. Our next step is to calculate our current carbon footprint, allowing us to implement meaningful offsetting strategies.
CHALLENGES WE FACE
Transportation and fuel emissions remain our biggest challenge. To mitigate this, we prioritise sea freight for overseas sourcing and ensure road transport operates only with full vehicles. Transparency in overseas procurement is vital, and we are committed to insisting on ethical and sustainable supply chains as our business grows. This area remains under constant review as we continue to innovate and improve.
