Bali Bound: Sourcing Unique Pieces for Our 2026 Hire Collections

Exploring the Heart of Craftsmanship
Our journey took us the artisan hubs of Kuta, Ubud and coastal locations where we visited new suppliers and explored shops, workshops and warehouses. It’s always inspiring to see the care that goes into every piece — from hand-carved teak furniture to intricately woven rattan chairs. Watching the makers at work reminded us why we love sourcing directly: each piece carries the hands and heart of its maker.

We spent hours walking through open-air workshops filled with the scent of freshly sanded timber, stacks of reclaimed wood waiting for new life, and artisans perfecting finishes that bring warmth and depth to every design.
Hidden Treasures & Antique Finds
No trip to Bali is complete without a deep dive into the island’s antique stores and reclamation warehouses. We saw so many incredible one-of-a-kind pieces — carved doors, vintage sideboards, and sculptural décor elements — each with its own story. We bought some beautiful antique painted boards from an old rice barn for our cottage, they are en-route now and I can’t wait to hang them!

Partnering with New Suppliers
This trip wasn’t just about finding beautiful pieces; it was also about building new relationships. We met several talented new suppliers who share our passion for sustainable production and high-quality craftsmanship. Many are experimenting with reclaimed woods and eco-friendly finishes — values that align perfectly with our direction for the coming year.

Why We Source in Person
Sourcing trips like this are the heartbeat of our design process. Seeing materials up close, meeting the makers, and hand-selecting every item ensures that what we bring home isn’t just furniture — it’s craftsmanship, story, and soul. (more on this in my next post)

Design Direction for 2026
We’re thrilled to bring these inspirations home as we choose new stock for 2026 and get ready to elevate celebrations, installations, and gatherings with a new layer of natural sophistication. The tone for our 2026 hire collections is shaping up to be earthy, tactile, and timeless — a blend of natural materials, organic forms, and a touch of global sophistication.
Stay tuned — soon, you’ll be able to see (and style) the beauty of Bali in our next collection.
