Wedding Trends for 2026

It’s already March the weeks are flying by and I’ve only just had the chance to look around the internet to see who’s saying what about the wedding trends for 2026.
The overall feeling I’m getting is that couples are moving away from the one-size-fits-all celebration. We all still love to use Pinterest for inspiration, colour palette ideas, and getting our themes just right, but couples are steering away from copying exactly what they see online towards more personalised, authentic experiences that truly reflect who they are.
How Wedding Furniture Trends Follow Interior Design and Colour Trends
Wedding design rarely exists in isolation. In fact, many of the trends we see at weddings are directly influenced by the wider world of interior design. As designers and venues embrace new colours, materials, and furniture styles in homes and hospitality spaces, these ideas naturally filter into the way weddings are styled and furnished.
Understanding these broader design movements can help planners and couples create weddings that feel both contemporary and timeless.
Furniture News, a website for the UK’s furniture retail trade trends forecast says ‘Instead of chasing one clear-cut ‘look’, we're seeing a mix-and-match mindset take over for 2026, where the focus is on gradually layering pieces that feel comforting, meaningful and maybe a little bit unexpected. It’s less about perfection and more about creating rooms that tell a story, and that shift is already shaping some of the strongest trends emerging for the year ahead’
So you can see this story already filtering into this year’s wedding trends
British Vogue say “Intentionality. Rather than copying the exact aesthetic seen in a viral celebration or following a traditional timeline for the sake of it, couples getting married this year are moving towards making their weddings truly their own with personalised, authentic details”
International planner Jove Meyer says “Couples are drawing inspiration from history, art movements, family heirlooms, old-world entertaining, but interpreting it through a modern lens. It’s about nostalgia without being nostalgic and honouring what came before while making it feel unmistakably now and unmistakably them!”

It’s a trend we love to see, as our collection has always been a little different from the norm. We combine beautiful heritage furniture pieces and interesting décor pieces with more contemporary furniture and styling, allowing couples to create a look that feels layered and individual.
Incorporating a piece of history into your wedding, an old bar counter, rustic coffee tables, or antique urns, adds character and personality to the day. These elements help break up the uniformity of matching sets and instead create a setting that feels relaxed, distinctive, and full of charm.

Other trends
- Intimate and Meaningful Experiences
Micro-weddings and smaller, intimate celebrations continue to be popular. Couples are prioritising quality over quantity, focusing on creating meaningful moments with those closest to them. This trend is allowing more room for creativity in decor, entertainment, and interactive experiences.

- Bold and Individual Styles
Couples are embracing bold choices, from unconventional colour palettes to unexpected decor elements. Think rich jewel tones, mixed metallics, or playful patterns. The idea is to make every detail feel unique rather than following a traditional template.

- Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Choices
Sustainability is no longer an afterthought. Couples are increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of their weddings, opting for local florals, reusable decor, plantable invitations, and ethical catering options. Eco-friendly celebrations are not just trendy, they’re meaningful.

- Outdoor and Multi-Functional Spaces
The love for outdoor celebrations continues to grow. Whether it’s a garden, forest, or waterfront venue, couples are seeking versatile spaces that can accommodate both ceremony and reception. Outdoor lounges, bars, and ceremony seating are becoming as important as the main dining setup.

- Experiential Touches
Couples want their guests to be part of the story. From interactive food stations and signature cocktails to immersive entertainment and personalised experiences, weddings are becoming less about formality and more about shared memories.

- Luxe Relaxed Aesthetic
The “relaxed-luxe” vibe is on the rise—comfortable, stylish, and effortlessly chic. Think plush lounges for outdoor cocktail hours, statement lighting, and mix-and-match seating arrangements that still feel cohesive and high-end.
